The Pond Run Tract (#03019-03898) is a +/- 142.19-acre (per tax records) tract of timberland located in northwestern Hempstead County and southeastern Howard County on the northeastern edge of Nashville, AR (North 33.957517°, West 93.823088°). The topography of the consists of well-drained rolling upland hills. “Pond Run”, a perennial creek, flows through the northeastern portion of the property in a southeasterly direction. A gated gravel road running east of AR-Hwy 27 for about a half-mile to the tract has been used to harvest the western portion of the property. The property is bisected by a power line right-of-way roughly 50 feet in width and over a half-mile in length – creating an open wildlife observation corridor. The property was harvested around the year 2000 and has been allowed to regenerate, containing predominately hardwood pulpwood. According to the USDA NRCS web soil survey, the property is based upon an assortment of sandy loam soils which give the land a weighted average site index of 80.7 feet for Loblolly Pine (base age 50).
